- “It keeps coming back, no matter what I’ve tried — and I can’t see how this gets better.”
- “I’m ashamed I can’t fix this, and grieving the life I thought I’d have.”
- “There should be more to life than just surviving.”
What you’ve tried hasn’t worked. That’s not because you didn’t try hard enough — some things aren’t meant to be fixed alone. It’s possible to move past just surviving and actually live — for your life to feel like yours again.
You don’t have to figure this out alone.
I have a demonstrated history treating OCD, anxiety, trauma, depression, relationship & parenting issues, and what keeps us from actually living — using proven methods chosen to fit you, not the other way around.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent years as a software engineer — building tools at Microsoft that reached millions of users, and developing clinical applications at a healthcare startup. I still work in tech, and that background shapes how I think: I’m analytical, I care about what actually works, and I believe in using the right tool for the job.
I hold an M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from Truman State University and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Missouri S&T. I’m a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) and am EMDR trained.

The Getting-Started Plan
-
1
Fill out the form below.
-
2
I follow up to schedule.
Your first session — or a free 15-minute consultation, whichever you prefer.
-
3
The first session.
You’ll walk out with a clearer picture of what’s going on and where to go from here.
- We move at your pace — never faster or slower than what you choose.
- While I won’t promise that therapy will always be comfortable, I will promise that the methods I use are proven — they’ve helped millions move past anxiety, trauma, depression, and whatever else keeps us stuck in survival mode.
Every year just surviving is a year you don’t get back.
The longer you perform ‘fine,’ the harder it gets to imagine anything else.
What seemed like the end can turn out to be a bend in the road.

What is your approach to therapy?
Choosing the right tools is important. I draw from multiple evidence-based treatment methods depending on your needs, including cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, exposure and response prevention, existential therapy, humanistic therapy, and more. The methods and structure we employ will be tailored to fit your goals and the specific concerns that bring you to therapy.
CBT
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Examines the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By identifying and restructuring unhelpful thought patterns, clients develop more effective ways of responding to challenges.
Useful for: anxiety, depression, anger, stress
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
A structured approach that helps the brain process and integrate disturbing memories. Uses bilateral stimulation to help reduce the emotional charge of traumatic experiences.
Useful for: trauma, PTSD, anxiety, phobias, grief
ERP
Exposure and Response Prevention
The gold-standard treatment for OCD. Involves gradual, guided exposure to anxiety-provoking situations while learning to resist compulsive responses, breaking the cycle over time.
Useful for: OCD, anxiety disorders, phobias
Existential Therapy
Explores questions of meaning, freedom, responsibility, and mortality. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, it addresses the deeper concerns that often underlie them.
Useful for: life transitions, loss of meaning, existential anxiety, identity
Humanistic Therapy
Centers on the whole person and their capacity for growth. Emphasizes empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard as the foundation for therapeutic change.
Useful for: self-esteem, personal growth, relationship difficulties
Jungian Therapy
Analytical Psychology
Works with the unconscious mind through exploration of symbols, dreams, and patterns. Aims at integration — bringing unconscious material into awareness so a person can become more whole.
Useful for: self-understanding, recurring patterns, individuation, meaning
Motivational Interviewing
A collaborative conversational approach that strengthens a person’s own motivation for change. Particularly effective when someone feels ambivalent about making a change they know might help.
Useful for: substance use, behavior change, ambivalence
Play Therapy
Uses play as the primary medium for communication and healing with children. Children naturally express themselves through play, making it an effective way to address emotional and behavioral difficulties.
Useful for: children, behavioral issues, trauma, family transitions
SFBT
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
A goal-oriented approach that focuses on solutions rather than problems. Helps clients identify what’s already working and build on it, often leading to meaningful change in a short time.
Useful for: goal-setting, brief interventions, practical problem-solving
